It can no longer be denied: we have the flu.
As of this morning, Sir Monkeypants and I are officially stricken. Know what? THE FLU SUCKS.
The big question for me now is Halloween. Should we go out? Should we hand out candy? Or would that be irresponsible?
What do you think?
You might not have the energy to go out and / or hand out candy. If you’ve bought the candy already you could keep it and eat it all up yourselves when everyone is feeling better.
I hope you all feel better soon!
Let me know if I can do anything to help (e.g., drop off food).
depends on how you are feeling on Saturday. If you are all stick sick keep the H1N1 sign on your door and no one will bother you. And if you need help eating all that candy you bought give me a call! 🙂
Well it’s sort of the same situation for us. Mouse has the flu and will miss multiple exciting plans that are taking place tomorrow and she will probably miss the activities planned on Saturday too. I feel a bit teary eyed over this (for Mouse’s sake), Halloween 2009 has sucked for us so far!
I am sorry you are feeling like crap. (We have something we can’t quite shake on this end. Don’t think it’s flu but I could be wrong.)
As for Saturday, wait and see. If you feel up to it take part, otherwise, just stay in and feel better.
We are right there with you. Well, the girl has the flu and the rest of us are feeling crappy. But that could just be a result of her having the flu and us not sleeping. Not sure yet what to do about Halloween.
lock the door, close the lights and eat all the candy watching movies. that’s what i would do. sucks for the kids though.
feel better!
So sorry to hear you guys are sick. How frustrating to have this happen at Halloween! I think you just have to see how you’re feeling on Saturday…and make sure everyone washes their hands really well if you do join in on festivities.
I wouldn’t go out or give out candy. You don’t want to spread it around. 🙂
How about putting the bowl on the front stoop and let people help themselves? I know it sounds a bit strange but at least you will be giving out candy in a way.
I hope you are feeling better!!!!! I like Karen’s idea about leaving the bowl for people to sort through themselves. Then at least you won’t be breathing on other people’s kids. Or, if you’re worried about germs spreading to the candy itself, have a neighbor buy / pass out candy for you. That was a popular theme in my neighborhood growing up. Too bad you can’t rig up a zapper for the teenagers, or the kids who take more than one piece. : )
