Guess The Movie!

Sometimes when we are stuck somewhere waiting for something, I’ll pull out a notebook and whoever is around will play movie pictionary.

That’s where we take turns drawing a scene from a movie, and the others have to guess. It’s definitely more fun when people get it right – this is not a game about stumping.

It’s more a game of making people laugh at your bad stick drawings.

The other night, we had a good round with me, Sir Monkeypants, and the two older kids. They had such a good time, actually, that they suggested I put their drawings up on my blog for everyone to guess.

Some of these are from obscure family favourites…but most are mainstream hits. Can you guess which movies these represent?

    7. Good Will Hunting
    8. Speed
    9. Aladdin
    11. Up
    14. Harry Potter – the first one I think
    15. Lord of the Rings – the first one?

    Ooh this is fun!!

    1. Snakes on a Plane
    2. Captain America? Avengers? Thor?
    3. Tangled
    4. Star Wars
    5. toy Story
    6,
    7. Good Will Hunting?
    8. Speed
    9. Aladdin
    10. The Fugitive
    11. Up
    12. Inside Out
    13. Big
    14. Harry Potter
    15. Lord of the Rings
    16. holy Grail.

How did I do? 6 really stumped me.

  3. Number 2 is actually from Avengers 2: Age of Ultron – the scene where they are all trying to lift the hammer, and Captain America actually makes it jiggle:

  4. Number 6 is super obscure – from Die Hard 3, the scene where Samuel L. Jackson and Bruce Willis are trying to solve the problem of how to get exactly 4 gallons of water using only a 3 gallon and 5 gallon jug:

  5. Number 7 is actually from 21 Jump Street, the scene where Channing Tatum is high on drugs and thinks he can do all the science (if you are wondering if 21 Jump Street would make for fine family viewing, the answer is TOTALLY NOT, do not be a bad parent like me):

  6. Number 16 is indeed the “holy hand grenade” scene from Monty Python and the Holy Grail! and #17 is the scene from the Curious George movie where George floats away on a mass of helium balloons.
