For May and June, we have:
Mondays: grocery shopping day; soccer for the Captain; skating for Gal Smiley and the Captain (haven’t quite figured out how the Captain is going to be in two places at once yet)
Tuesdays; swim class for Sir Monkeypants; preschool board meeting once a month; PTA meeting once every other month; plus occasional preschool general meetings
Wednesdays: laundry day; soccer for Gal Smiley; PTA meetings once every other month; book club meeting in May
Thursdays: Lynn tap class; Sir Monkeypants poker once or twice a month
Fridays: free, book us now or lose out!
Saturdays: dance class for the Little Miss, birthday party for Gal Smiley every Saturday in May, occasional classes at the library for the older two kids, poker for Lynn once a month
Sundays: gymnastics for the girls; ball hockey for the Captain
And. Breathe.
Also happening this month and next: planting our first-ever vegetable garden; planning Blog Out Loud; planning a shower for FameThrowa (don’t even TRY to talk me out of it, FameThrowa, it is happening!); hosting a brunch for FameThrowa’s fiancee’s family; having a birthday party for Little Miss Sunshine, who is turning three.
Not happening: Garage Sale, blurgh. I really wanted to have one and even have the giant, enormous, scary pile in the basement ready to go, but the only possible weekend for this is this coming Saturday and I have to just let it go for my own sanity. Anyone want any baby clothes or toys?
AND, somewhere in there I’m supposed to be training for the National Capital 5K, which at this rate, I am going to have to CRAWL THROUGH, and then, I will only make it if someone is walking three feet in front of me the entire time with a box of chocolates. At this point in time I don’t think I could “run” down to the corner and back.
Deep breaths now. If I can just make it through to July…I won’t know what the hell to do with myself.
Oh man….I can totally see our schedule looking more or more like this now that Jamie’s at the age where he’s starting to get into extracurricular stuff. At some point, you just have to put a thing or two on the back-burner. If the blog is the thing that needs to get less attention for the next couple of months, that’s totally understandable.
Good luck with everything!
Hey – no one is holding a gun to your head, forcing you to do all this stuff, are they? I suspect you thrive on all this activity. It seems to energize you.
I am beginning to fear that this is true. It is so very reminiscent of my mother. She can’t sit still for a second. Everyone will be like, Mom, come sit, we’ll clean up after, but no, she’s always busy about the kitchen, cleaning and making more pie and preparing stuff for next Tuesday’s dinner.
Even when she’s sitting, she’s always knitting or peeling something or doing something else productive.
Aye aye aye, I see my future!
Wow, Lynn, that sounds eerily like our life (right down to the preschool board meetings!!). It’s crazy, and it all happened so suddenly. Our two boys have t-ball twice a week, and my husband has softball once a week – that alone has me spinning at supper time and struggling to get everyone in the right place in the evenings. Oh yeah, and bedtimes. FUN.
She is turning THREE already?? Holy cow.
Anyway, you’re not alone, we’re in the same boat here and I can totally relate!!
We’re in the same boat. There are certain activities I really want my children to be in: swimming, piano, soccer, art….but it does make for too busy a life. It’s hard and I don’t know what the answer is!
Can I come to FameThrowa’s shower by Skype? 🙂
Baby clothes? Toys? How can you give them up?
My baby’s weird. She’s almost 2 but she still fits into some 2-12 month clothes. Although that’s changing daily as we discover the clothes we’ve been squeezing her into for the last year are finally getting a little short in the leg.
You know what’s funny? It makes me sad to retire some of them. It’s like: she wore these. She looked cute in them. I can’t just…stuff them in a box.
My eyes get all teary just thinking about stuff like this sometimes.
Wow – that’s busy! But fun stuff. You should just call Fridays as booked for doing nothing 😉
I think it’s so cool that you take tap lessons! I used to tap dance when I was a kid and loved it.
