Neptune, California

Veronica Mars from this week was so frickin’ awesome. Man, I love that show.

For the fans, I just read in EW that it is currently ranking around 96th, which is none too good. Its ratings are up over last year, especially the past three weeks, when Lost was in re-runs. However, the bad news is that its ratings are actually lower than the show UPN showed in the same time slot last year — Kevin Hill, a show that they cancelled after its first season.

Since it’s on UPN I’m expecting it to last the full season no matter what. But a third season may be too much to wish for.

I’ve been weeks behind on VM due to the conflict with Lost, but I just got caught up earlier this week. Unfortunately I have to wait until Sunday evening when UPN reruns Wednesday’s episode (I only download when it’s absolutely necessary 🙂 ).

When I saw the first episode this season, I was wondering if the show would maintain its quality from last season. I think it has.

I think it was a terrible idea for UPN to pit VM against Lost, which is a huge show on a huge network. Kevin Hill was a show which the critics initially liked, but then quickly soured on. VM is still critically acclaimed, unlike most UPN shows, so I agree that it’s likely to stay on the whole season. Sales of the first season DVD, which is out now, will probably also have an impact on what happens next year.
