?? No. Doesn’t that make it, like, impossible to spread?
I never did until we started buying the natural stuff (just peanuts, just cashes…and thanks to you sunflower butter which we love). I buy it from the Bulk Barn and they don’t have it refridgerated in their store but for some reason I put it in the fridge. It is still easy to spread unlike the regular grocery store pbutter.
Nope. In the cupboard.
My Peter Pan is unrefrigerated, thankyouverymuch.
Yes, absolutely – always in the fridge. I buy natural peanut butter which can go rancid quickly at room temperatures. I also always worry about the aflatoxim mold spores and somehow think they’ll be contained at cooler temperatures. I think commercial peanut butter with lots of additives and stuff is okay in the cupobard.
Hm. I was just about to comment that it seemed fairly conclusive that keeping it in the cupboard was okay, but now XUP has me all worried about mold spores. We used to keep the real stuff — the commercial peanut butter — in the cupboard. Now that we are using sunbutter though — nothing but sunflower seeds — it just seems wrong somehow to keep it in the cupboard, so I’ve been keeping it in the fridge.
It does make it hard to spread, though…and it doesn’t say anywhere on the package that it needs to be refridgerated, so…I was thinking of moving it to the cupboard.
But clearly the debate still rages. This calls for some internet reasearch!
In the fridge, according to the package instructions. I buy PC’s 100% natural, so there’s separation otherwise. When I want to use it, I leave it on the counter for a few minutes, and it’s pretty manageable after that.
