I like to think I don’t have too many pet peeves (Sir Monkeypants, I can hear you laughing).
But it does bother me when people use the sugar bowl spoon to stir their coffee.
And it bugs me even more when they put the wet spoon back in the sugar bowl.
Man, I’m cranky this morning.
No, you’re not cranky. That’s just rude and thoughtless.
Wait a minute, though — where did this happen? At home? Is this a sly dig made for to see? Or are you venting at some guests you had over?
Anyway, I’m surprised if someone actually did this knowingly and intentionally in a shared space. It’s so obviously not… ‘sustainable’.
… when you use the spoon just to drop the sugar in your coffee, but the steam from the hot coffee makes the spoon dewy enough to get it all sugar-covered when you put it back in the bowl? No foul here, folks, just the laws of nature in action.
Perhaps you should simply keep the sugar-laden spoon a few inches away from the cup and carefully fling it towards the java? Maybe sugar cubes are a better alternative, since they’re so much easier to throw.
Did you have a small saucer out with lots of tiny souvenir spoons that were clearly meant for coffee stirring? If so, your guests’ infraction is unforgivable.
I think it’s obvious that more details are needed here. 🙂
It wasn’t me!
And if had been, I don’t believe that there would be anything like a “sly dig” as a result. I think the outcome would have been more like Wrestlemania XIX. Not one of the lesser events, like Wrestlemania IV or XVI — those were such lame shows; don’t even get me started.
