We had a bit of a scare on Wednesday evening when I had a few scattered contractions, but nothing came of it, and so far, the baby is still holding out for Monday. Monday is supposed to be 30 degrees and humid, with thunderstorms, so that’s good birthing weather, I’d have to say!
Tonight Sir Monkeypants is going to try to paint the baby’s room (or maybe tomorrow morning)…and then, we’re all ready to go.
In the meantime: still tired, still very cranky.
that’s good birthing weather, I’d have to say!
I’m sure you mean good “birthin’ weather”. I can just picture it:
Thunderstorms crashing outside. The power goes off in the delivery room, still illuminated by flashes of lightning. RACK FOCUS onto ‘s screaming face.
DOCTOR
Oh my God. Oh my GOD! Noooo!!!!
Don’t you want to have your baby tomorrow, so his birthday can be 07-07-07? You can name him “Lucky”!
Dear Baby,
If you wait until Monday, not only will there be the good birthin’ weather (gotta agree with on that point), your dad will have a chance to paint your room. Mmmmm….good, painty room!
In the meantime, go easy on your mom.
Excitedly waiting,
DQ23
Hilarious!
That’s ‘s plan. I’ll have a stern talking to the baby tonight to try to make that happen. I personally think we can make it happen…I just have to work up the guts to go through with it!
As for the Lucky nickname…it would fit with the birthday, but sadly, my past several poker nights have revealed that this baby is NOT Lucky. Another girl in my poker circle was also pregnant and had her baby, a boy, last week. She was notoriously unlucky at poker for the past two years, and then suddenly, in the last six months, began winning big time. So *her* baby is definitely Lucky!
Dear DramaQueen…
I guess since I have been waiting for NINE MONTHS for them to paint the room, I can wait a few more days. Plus that thunderstorm stuff sounds really exciting!
The Baby
Last year, on 6-5-6, the doctor was going to “encourage” the baby to come soon by doing something called “stripping the membrances”, which she said, if successful, would probably cause the baby to arrive the next day. Anyway, I was totally undilated, so she didn’t do it, and secretly I was glad so that he didn’t have that scary birthdate.
The last few days are really exhausting, aren’t they? Hang in there, and let us know asap when it happens! We’ll be thinking about you …
