Is that a source of Niacin?

Gal Smiley just ate a crayon. A whole crayon. Lime green.

It was definitely a grosser cleanup than any poop, barf, or pee leak I’ve ever had to deal with. She had lime green goo all over her face, hands, shirt, and pants, not to mention completely embedded in her teeth. I had to wipe the inside of her mouth with a wet cloth but she still has green teeth when she smiles.

She was pretty excited about it before the cloth thing, though. I guess the secret to getting her to eat green beans will be to put them in a crayon wrapper!

I admit: I just laughed out loud. I hope the people who make crayons were wise enough to know this might happen and, thus, did not put any toxic stuff in the crayon.

What on Earth possessed that gal to do that? What a kook.

They do claim to be “non-toxic” on the package. She seemed to enjoy it, in any case. This actually is not the first incident in which she has taken a bite out of a crayon, but other times I was there to fish it out of her mouth. This time I was busy cleaning up some pee that Captain Jelly Belly had leaked into his bed, so she had unsupervised time to actually bite, chew, and swallow.

    Ah, such a fun afternoon!

Did you take a picture? I’ve been telling that parents really should take a few pictures of their kids when they’re doing unpleasant stuff. Eating a crayon, isn’t really that bad but it would make a great photo. I was think more of long crying spells, the third time they get up in the middle of the night – stuff like that. I took a couple of snaps of mine like that and it helps balance out the memories of when the kids were young and life was some much easier. 😉

I wish I had. At the time I was too horrified, but in retrospect it really was quite hilarious.

I’ll try to grab a snapshot when the lime green poop arrives :).
